This 116,000 kilowatt steam turbine power unit, costing $11 million, and known as Unit 6 more than doubled the capacity of Cleco’s Coughlin Power Station on Bayou Cocodrie. This installation boosted Cleco’s system-wide capacity to 316,00 kilowatts.(Gazette file photo)
