What does volunteer mean? It is defined as a person who expresses a willingness to undertake a service to help others. People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it offers them a chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.
Doing work that makes a positive difference in the lives of others improves your mental and physical health. Volunteering can help reduce stress and depression, keep you motivated and provide you with a sense of purpose. To be a good volunteer, there are certain skills to maintain, such as punctuality, organization, teamwork, confidence, communication skills and dedication.
We have volunteers of different backgrounds, abilities and ages. We appreciate each and every volunteer we have. Each one comes to us out of compassion for our residents and respects our rules and regulations. Many thanks to all of you for the years of dedication and for all you do for us.
