People in the U.S. are working more and taking less time off, bringing on various mental and physical health issues. When work is overwhelming and your work life balance feels out of whack, it’s probably a good time to take a vacation. Simply planning a vacation boosts happiness up to eight weeks before the trip.
Studies show taking time away from a job can have both physical and mental health benefits. People who take vacations have lower stress, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life and more motivation to achieve goals. It sends feelings of calm and relieves stress and allows the body and mind to heal in ways that it couldn’t if it were still under pressure. Returning after a vacation, the individual is more focused and productive.
The best thing of vacation is the outcome of family time. Spending time enjoying life with loved ones can keep relationships strong. The bottom line is take a vacation if at all possible. It helps you feel refreshed and more prepared to handle whatever comes your way upon return to work.
