Smiles are good medicine, especially when they are shared. A smile sometimes puts a person at ease. It creates a comfort zone that makes friendly interaction and communication possible.
Smiles have a positive effect on the chemicals in our brains, serve as a mental stimulant and improve our overall attitude. They reduce depression, insecurity, anger and shyness. A simple smile is contagious.
Another factor that is often overlooked is that smiling improves a person’s appearance. Life is far too serious and we all need a little time to lighten up. Wonderful things happen to the brain and body when we laugh. So smile and watch others smile back at you.
