The 40th annual Boggy Bayou Youth Pageant was held Saturday, March 15, at the Sherman Place Event Venue. Winners and runners-up were announced as follows:
Baby Miss: Laney Merchant, the 11-month-old daughter of Joseph and Jewel Merchant of Leesville, was crowned Baby Miss Boggy Bayou. Rounding out the court were Gemma Faith Roberie, the eight-month-old daughter of John MItchell and Kourtnie Roberie of Mamou, first alternate; and Jillian Maddie, the five-month-old daughter of Lauren Maddie of Arnaudville, second alternate.
Baby Mister: Howie Manuel, the eight-month-old son of Amber Manuel of Pine Prairie, was named Baby Mister Boggy Bayou. The baby mister’s court also held Kyzer Burlew, the nine-month-old son of Dylan and Bethany Burlew of St. Landry, first alternate; and Yannis Shalabi, the 12-month-old son of Alexis Givs of Eunice, second alternate.
Toddler Miss: Kora Mae Fontenot, the 17-month-old daughter of Nick and Chelsie Fontenot of Eunice, was chosen as Toddler Miss Boggy Bayou. Her court was completed with Anna-Kate Guillory, the 21-month-old daughter of Kade and Sadie Guillory of Gueydan, first alternate; and Quinn Meredith Howard, the 22-month-old daughter of Ben and Dylan Howard of Lake Charles, second alternate.
Toddler Mister: Preston John Andress, the two-year-old son of Shelby Briscoe of Elton, was selected as Toddler Mister Boggy Bayou. Joining the new toddler king on the court were Kaison Ashford, the 14-month-old son of Shayllynn Ashford of Ville Platte, first alternate; and Jayvion Eckhart, the two-year-old son of Cade Eckhart and Tara Fontenot of Eunice, second alternate.
Mini Miss: Navy Dru Remedies, the two-year-old daughter of Drew and Alyssa Remedies of Logansport, was named Mini Miss Boggy Bayou. Azalee Sylvia McGehee, the two-year-old daughter of Jake and Cami McGehee of Basile, first alternate; and Callie Wilson, the two-year-old daughter of Jesse and Shiann Wilson of Oakdale, second alternate, were also named to the queen’s court.
Tiny Miss: Ayda Remedies, the four-year-old daughter of Drew and Alyssa Remedies of Logansport, captured the title of Tiny Miss Boggy Bayou, with Josie James Fletcher, the four-year-old daughter of Josh and Brandi Fletcher of Bunkie, first alternate; and Jaida Narcisse, the three-year-pld daughter of Julie Narcisse of Duson, second alternate, rounding out her court.
Petite Miss: Skyla Raine McElfresh, the five-year-old daughter of Russell and Kayla McElfresh of Lake Charles, was chosen as Petite Miss Boggy Bayou. Her court consisted of Blair Olivia Broussard, the six-year-old daughter of Schylor and Alicia Broussard of Lake Arthur, first alternate; and Bexley Quinn Harrington, the six-year-old daughter of Aaron and Heather Harrington of Carencro, second alternate.
Little Miss: Madlee Rae Wellman, the eight-year-old daughter Seth and Megan Wellman of Oakdale, was selected as Little Miss Boggy Bayou. Emma Patterson, the eight-year-old daughter of Adam and Selina Smith of Mamou, was named first alternate to the Little Miss queen.
Deb Miss: Ava Claire Thomas, the 11-year-old daughter of Cortnie Cormier and Jerwasky Thomas of Eunice, was crowned Deb Miss Boggy Bayou. Placing as runners-up to the new Deb Miss queen were Elizabeth Reed, the 11-year-old daughter of Randall and Jennifer Reed of Eunice, first alternate; and Harleigh Credeur, the 10-year-old daughter of Tiffany Credeur of Eunice, second alternate.
