Engagements

The engagement of Miss Shelby Elizabeth Savoy to Mr. Jake Veillon, the son of Todd Veillon and Donna Phythian, both of Grand Prairie, has been announced by her parents, Remi and Nicole Savoy of Eunice and David Buller of Garland.
The couple will exchange wedding vows Saturday, June 4, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington.
Miss Savoy’s mother is the former Nicole Veillon of Ville Platte. She is the granddaughter of Donald and Tressie Veillon of Ville Platte, Clarence and Barbara Savoy of Eunice and Tee Dee and Lennie Buller of Garland.
A graduate of St. Edmund High School and LSU-E, she is currently employed with Opelousas General Health System.
Mr. Veillon’s mother is the former Donna Roberie of Grand Prairie. He is the grandson of Mary Roberie, the late Bruce Roberie, Beryl Patin, the late Bobby Patin and Donald Veillon, all of Grand Prairie.
A graduate of Northwest High School, he is currently employed with Nabors Offshore Drilling Company.
