The Marks Post: Vikings or nah?

The Norse (also known as the Vikings) originated in Scandinavia and pillaged their way through the remnants of Roman Empire. They eventually settled in Britain and continued sailing west until they got to Greenland. According to legend, they found their way to North America and started playing football in Minnesota.
Like the Templar Knights, I have always been fascinated with stories of the Vikings. Now, there may be a connection between the two Medieval groups.
Back in early December, I began binge watching The Curse of Oak Island. I went down the rabbit hole and literally spent every waking moment glued in front of the television. It took about two months for me to catch up on the 10-plus seasons of the show and begin watching the new episodes as they played each week.
The highly anticipated finale of Season 11 played this past Tuesday, and it was a major let down. I should not be surprised because most of the series to this point has been a let down.
The biggest thing found this past season was a rock with a hair in it that was found under a boulder. This hair, if you like legends, probably comes from the Yeti or maybe just from a run-of-the-mill yak.
Now, I have always been somewhat of a conspiracy theorist. I probably said this already, but don’t get me started on the JFK assassination. Anyway, I am kind of glad nothing of substance has been found on Oak Island.
Hear me out on this. I don’t know where I read or heard this, but, supposedly, the rapture will come when all things are revealed. In Oak Island terms, I believe, the end of the world will come when we finally know what is buried on the island.
And, look at all that’s going around today across the globe. Maybe that rock with the hair in it is of more importance than we think.
Call me crazy, but look at it this way. Over the seasons, something happened every time the team got close to a so-called major discovery. There were hurricanes and other storms that struck the island which caused historic damage. Remember COVID-19? The pandemic broke out about the time the Oak Island team made a big breakthrough in the swamp. Coincidence, maybe. Again, call me crazy.
Anyway, as for the Viking-Templar connection, the team on the show has unraveled plausible theories that the Scandinavians helped the Christian Knights smuggle their treasure across Europe and to Oak Island. Like Hansel and Gretel’s bread crumbs, there is a trail of evidence leading from a monastery outside Rome to a man-mad cavern system in Denmark.
All in all, the theories are interesting to follow. It is also interesting to follow all the Oak Island associated accounts on the app formally known as Twitter.
Even though I have my reservations on the show, I will watch the new season when it comes out. Until then, I need to find a new rabbit hole to fill the time. When does the new season of Teen Mom start on MTV?
