Home invasion suspect turns self into jail

Chief Neal Lartigue of the Ville Platte Police Department, asked for assistance from the public earlier in the week on locating a suspect wanted in connection with breaking into a residence.
Chief Lartigue then released a statement Friday saying “Thomas came into the police department yesterday (June 27) evening and turned himself in.”
“On June 16, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to an incident where a black male forced his way into a residence and assaulted multiple females inside the home,” Chief Lartigue said in a press release. Upon the leaving the residence the male suspect busted the windows of a vehicle in the driveway.”
“The investigation led to a warrant being issued for Corey Thomas 27, whose last known address is 1850 State Avenue, Ville Platte,” the press release continued. “Mr. Thomas is wanted for one count of home invasion, one count of criminal damage to property (felony), one count of criminal damage to property (misdemeanor) and four counts of simple battery.”
The chief thanked everyone for their assistance in this matter.
