By: RHETT MANUEL Sports Editor (Editor’s Note: Basile, Ville Platte and Mamou scrimmages will be previewed in Sunday’s edition of The Gazette.) With the school year right here with us finally, for sports fans it can only mean one thing: the Boys of Fall are prepping themselves for another season.

By: TONY MARKS Editor NATCHITOCHES - In 1993, Isidore Newman School played in the state baseball championship game against Sacred Heart. Playing shortstop for Newman was Peyton Manning who committed an error which caused the Trojans to score the game winning run.
