Lady Bullogs overcome 17-point deficit for key district win

By: TONY MARKS Editor Ever since a home overtime 56-53 loss against LaGrange, the Ville Platte girls’ basketball team are winners of six in a row. Among those wins are four wins in district play, which puts the Lady Bulldogs atop the standings in District 4-3A.

Parish’s boys’ basketball teams gear up for late season runs

Basile girls split pair, drop District 4-1A opener

By: RHETT MANUEL LSN Sports Editor The Basile Lady Bearcats have punched above their weight throughout the 2024-2025 basketball season thus far. Heading into district play, Basile had won eight of its past nine games and sat at 14-7 overall after a 49-41 win over Northside Christian on Jan. 20.

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs and Pine Prairie Lady Panthers began district play with a game against each other on Monday, January 27. The visitors from Ville Platte got the better end of the deal with a 67-26 win. Yazmin Ardoin led Ville Platte with 15 points.
