Evangeline Parish hoops tournament begins Wednesday

On Wednesday, all of the Evangeline Parish teams will gather at Sacred Heart to battle for the title of Parish Champions.
The tournament was originally slated to be played at Mamou High. But, do to delays in the remodeling of the Demon gym, the tournament was moved to Trojan land.
The tourney kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon with the Basile Lady Bearcats squaring off against the Mamou Lady Demons. At 5:p.m. the Basile Bearcats take on the Mamou Demons.
The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans and the Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs will tangle at 6:30 p.m. that night, while the nightcap will feature the Sacred Heart Trojans and the Ville Platte Bulldogs. That game starts at 8 p.m.
The Pine Prairie Panthers and Lady Panthers received a bye and will await the winner of the Sacred Heart and Ville Platte games respectfully on Thursday. The Lady Panthers will play at 6:30 Thursday, while the Panthers will follow up at 8 p.m.
Losers of Wednesday’s contests will play at 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday. Semi-finals are set for Friday beginning at 3:30 and concluding with the final game at 8 p.m.
Championship games take place on Saturday, as the girl’s finals get going at 11 a.m. and the boy’s finals set for 12:30.
