By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor VILLE PLATTE - The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Evangeline Parish Police Jury, has issued a public reminder that enforcement of the parish’s nuisance property ordinance is now underway.

ATM theft is reported

On June 20, 2025, at approximately 0200 hours, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm activation located at the Bayou One Stop (4730 US HWY 167N) in the Turkey Creek area.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reports arrests in connection with three separate incidents that resulted in burglaries and thefts. Jeremiah Jerome Allison On April 21, deputies responded to the 1700 block of France Road (in the Mamou area) in reference to a report of a burglary.

VP officer faces charge of malfeasance in office
