George H. “Butch” Buller, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family, at the age of 82.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:

Johnson is selected to serve as Boggy Bayou king

Bryon Scott Johnson, locally known in our community as Scotty, was raised in Bayou Chicot along with his seven siblings by his mother, Bit Self, and his late father, Clyde Johnson, Sr.

Causey closes out festival

Local talent Trevor Causey will close out the entertainment at this year’s Boggy Bayou Festival. He will take the stage at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.

Boggy Bayou Festival Parade is announced

Miss Boggy Bayou Festival Kale Cloud and the festival board have announced the Boggy Bayou Festival Parade, which is presented by the 2024 royalty.
