Qualifying for November election comes to a close

On the final day of qualifying for the November 6 elections, news broke that a current and former resident of Evangeline Parish have completed the paperwork necessary to put her name on the ballot for Louisiana Secretary of State.
Ville Platte native and incumbent Kyle Ardoin and current Mayor of the Village of Turkey Creek Heather Cloud threw their hats into the ring that includes seven other candidates. The field is Republican dominated with six members of the Grand Ole Party (including Ardoin and Cloud) as compared to two Democrats in the race. One candidate does not belong to a party.
The following is a list of candidates who have announced for the office of Secretary of State as well as other offices on the ballot in November. Those marked with (I) are the incumbents.
