VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services were held at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Saturday, March 17, 2018 for Ginger D. Moreau Fontenot, 76, who passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Greenwell Springs.
Father Taj Glodd, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, was celebrant of the mass and conducted the funeral services.
Burial took place in the M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.
Ginger D. Moreau Fontenot was born in Ville Platte on January 22, 1942 to Birdie “Boss” and Vernice Lafleur Moreau. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, she went on to attend Cosmetology School. Ginger worked for the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy where she issued licenses to pharmacist and pharmacies. She retired from Entergy Corporation after working in collections for 10 years. Ginger was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and the town of Ville Platte. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived her daughters, Angela J. Fontenot-White and Julie Fontenot Diez and husband Ryan; grandchildren, Christina Bennett and husband Jason, Cherie Narro and husband Ben, and Chloe Abigail Kleinpeter; great-grandchildren, Fiona Jade Narro, Alyssa Newman, Gavin Newman, Bella Narro, Bennie Narro, and Gage Matthew Duval; and one great-grandchild on the way; step-grandchildren, Garret and Parker Bennett; and sister, Priscilla M. Smith.
Ginger is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robley Fontenot; parents, Birdie “Boss” and Vernice Lafleur Moreau; and son-in-laws, Jeffery D. White and Jeffrey D. Kelleher.
The family requested that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary was recited at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, by Deacon Gene LeBouef. Visitation continued Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
