TCPD seizes drugs and firearm

Continuing its efforts to rid the streets of illegal narcotics is the Turkey Creek Police Department, who responded to another call of such activity in the wee-morning hours of Monday, June 8.
Turkey Creek Police Department, at that time, seized illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a firearm during a traffic stop. Officer Lemaire observed a vehicle fail to maintain proper lane usage which drove onto the shoulder of the roadway on US Hwy 167 N. During a field interview, Officer Lemaire observed Greta Louise Vondenstein Perkins, to be extremely nervous. Perkins gave verbal consent to search her vehicle where Lemaire located seven clear baggies containing a crystal rock-like substance, presumed to be methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe containing an unknown residue, two ziplock bags with packaging baggies and a .22 caliber rifle with a loaded magazine.
Greta Louise Vondenstein Perkins was issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage, arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges and property seizures are pending.
