Chief of Police Shawn Eckhart, of the Turkey Creek Police Department, announced another drug arrest within the village.
According to the chief, Turkey Creek Police Officer Chris Lemaire, in the early evening hours of Wednesday, April 29, observed a white male riding a bicycle on US Hwy 167 N.
The subject was in violation of several elements of the Louisiana Bicycle Law, and Officer Lemaire made contact with him.
Officer Lemaire then observed the subject to be overly nervous and could see his heart beating through his shirt. Officer Lemaire also observed the subject to be in possession of a pocket knife and conducted a Terry Frisk for officer safety. At that point, he discovered a small amount of marijuana and crystal meth as a result of the frisk, which the subject admitted to be marijuana and crystal meth.
As a result of this incident, this subject is facing up to four additional felony warrants for illegal drug possession.
“I would like to remind the community to stay vigilant and report all suspicious activity through the social media site on Facebook or by calling dispatch,” said Chief Eckhart.
