Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a routine traffic stop that resulted in the recovery of several stolen four-wheelers.
The suspects arrested on Friday were Bryce P. Fontenot, Daniel S. Johnson and Drake P. Lee.
The traffic stop occurred on April 27th around 3:00 p.m. when, according to Major Jeremy Mitchell with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling along La. Hwy. 29 (Whiteville Rd.) near Rue de Coton with “several violations.”
Following the incident, Major Mitchell shared that after being pulled over, “the driver began to act suspicious.” This according to the Major, “led the officer to check the information on the four-wheelers,” which confirmed that three of the four bikes being hauled by the truck were stolen.
Fontenot, 17, has been charged with possession of stolen property, while Johnson, 19, has been charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and Lee, 18, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
All three individuals were released from the parish jail on $90,000.00 bonds.
