Kevin Rodriguez, a resident of Pine Prairie for three decades, has announced his candidacy for the village council. The election is set for Tuesday, November 3.
In his announcement, Rodriguez said, “I, Kevin P. Rodriguez, am pleased to announce my candidacy for Pine Prairie Village Council in the November 3 election.”
“I have been a resident of Pine Prairie for 32 years.”
“I have been married to the former Tammy Fontenot for 39 years. Together we have three children and seven grandchildren.”
“I have 10 years of past experience in road construction and drainage.”
“I went to work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1990 as a correctional officer.”
“Two years later, I was promoted to maintenance supervisor.”
“Throughout my 25-year career as maintenance supervisor, I was responsible for engineering large projects inside and outside of the institution. I organized and supervised staff and inmates in completing these projects.”
“I was responsible for my own cost center and budget.”
“My job taught me how to use a budget effectively.”
“I would like to add that I have experience, training, and certification in emergency preparedness, OSHA, fire and rescue, inclement weather, mold inspection and remediation, and riot training.”
“I have been involved in youth sports in Pine Prairie for 30-plus years. For four years, I was the Pine Prairie High School assistant baseball coach.”
“I am a dedicated person and have worked hard at every job that I have had throughout my life. Now that I am retired, I would like to work hard for you as one of your next village councilmen.”
