The 51st La. Swine Festival is this weekend here in little Basile.
This community event, as always, has the full support of the local schools, as students are dismissed from classes at midday to attend Kiddie Day at the fair. This week’s football game has been moved to Thursday night to encourage everyone to attend Friday night’s talent show and Geno Delafosse’s concert under the Pig Barn.
The festival enjoys ample support from local businesses who contribute funds to help finance the festival. Lastly, the festival has a fine group of association members who have been working for the past year to organize and run this major Louisiana festival.
