Suspect cleared in ATV theft

A suspect in a recent ATV theft that occurred in Pine Prairie has been cleared of having any involvement in the crime.
James Chad Ardoin, was one of two individuals arrested for the theft. However, on the Pine Prairie Police Department issued a press release last Thursday, which stated, “On January 11. 2018, Pine Prairie Police, through further investigation and new evidence, found that James Chad Ardoin had no involvement with the theft of the ATV.”
The release went on to state, “Charges were dropped against Ardoin.”
Pine Prairie Police were first made aware of the theft “on December 24, 2017,” after they “received a complaint about a stolen ATV from a residence in Pine Prairie.”
According to a press release from the PPPD, “information was given to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office,” who was able to locate the stolen ATV and one of the original suspects, Devon Jade Chapman, of 114 Tully Cloud Rd., Oakdale.
At this time, Chapman remains incarcerated in the parish jail on a $20,000 bond.
