Mamou Police Department arrested two adults and one juvenile following a report on Monday, February 1, of shots fired at the intersection of 5th and Pine Streets.
Upon arriving at the scene, a single shot casing was retrieved, and victims reported four males had approached them and threatened to take the bicycle belonging to one of the victims. Officers learned when the victim resisted, the suspects circled the men and one suspect pulled out a gun and shot into the air.
Upon investigation of the complaint, Joshua Jones (B/M DOB: 11-19-2002) was soon apprehended when an additional complaint was made of shots fired near Point Street where he was arrested. Jones is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
A second adult identified as Alex Thibodeaux (B/M DOB: 12-06-2002) was also reported as involved in this incident was apprehended and charged with principal to aggravated assault. A third suspect, a juvenile, was also arrested and charged with illegal discharge of firearm, illegal carry of a firearm, and aggravated assault with a firearm and was thereafter released to the parent.
In a separate incident, a complaint of a missing four wheeler was received on Saturday, February 20. The victim was interviewed and reported his ATV was pushed out from underneath his carport. Officers followed the tracks which led to Maple Street where several people were located. Upon investigation, Deandre Wilson (B/M DOB:12-21-1998) was arrested after admitting to stealing the ATV and dismantling it. Wilson was charged with criminal trespassing, theft, and criminal damage to property. Also, arrested was Sharon Thomas (B/F DOB:01-15- 1999) who was also seen pushing the four wheeler. Thomas was charged with accessory after the fact.
