Plans are underway for the annual Food for Families

This year’s Food for Families Food Drive is set for Tuesday, December 10. People are encourage to help fill food pantries in Acadiana by donating non-perishable food.
Examples of non-perishable food items needed are:
dry beans
rice
macaroni and cheese
pasta
flour
cornbread
grits
oatmeal
dry milk
cereal
cooking oil
peanut butter
meals in a box
canned tuna
canned vegetables
canned fruit
spaghetti sauce
tomato sauce
tomato paste
fruit juice.
Other items are also needed such as:
paper products
toilet tissue
toilet articles
shampoo
soap
cleaning supplies
detergents.
Monetary donations in lieu of giving food are also welcome.
Drop off locations in Evangeline Parish at the Ville Platte Northside Civic Center Pavillion from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church Religious Education Building in Mamou from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
