Pine Prairie police recovers vehicle

On December 31, 2019 Pine Prairie Police was on patrol on Bailey Street near Clark Street when Assistant Chief Rick Ordner noticed a Blue Dodge pickup parked in the road of Clark Street. Upon approach, the doors were all open on the vehicle and two male suspects were messing inside a vehicle parked in the yard of a resident on Clark Street. When the two males noticed A.C. Ordner, they dropped all the items they were attempting to take out of the vehicle and fled on foot. A.C. Ordner gave chase but was unable to catch the subjects. A.C. Ordner made contact with the owner of the vehicle and checked the items. All items that the owner had inside his vehicle were still on scene. The suspects fled and dropped everything when they saw the officer. Upon checking the parked vehicle, it was found to be stolen out of Ville Platte. The vehicle was recovered for Ville Platte Police. At this time the incident is still under investigation.

On the same night A.C. Ordner noticed a while male juvenile walking in the area with a backpack. Upon speaking with the juvenile, A.C. Ordner located a small bag of suspected Marijuana along with cigars and a smoking pipe. The juvenile was arrested and released to the custody of his mother pending court. The juvenile was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Underage Possession of Tobacco.
