Certified public accountant Shirley Vige told the Pine Prairie Village Council it had a good year with cash in the bank as he presented his audit report during the council meeting held Thursday.
According to Vige’s report, total assets for the village was $1,454,36.00, and total liabilities was $49,687.00. That difference left a total fund balance of $1,404,943, which is up from last year’s $1,339,490.
“You have a good fund balance,” Vige said. “You have a positive of $1.4 million. For a small town like you have, that’s doing good.”
Vige added the village’s net change in its fund balance is $64,453.00.
“You had a good year,” he said. “You have cash in the bank and bought $92 thousand worth of police cars, so you still had a positive.”
In other business, the council authorized Mayor Quint West to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Evangeline Parish Police Jury and the Pine Prairie Police Department.
