Pine Prairie council sets public hearing for 2019 budget

Two ordinances dealing with the Village of Pine Prairie’s fiscal year budgets were introduced during the council’s regular monthly meeting last week.
Ordinance 1-2018 was introduced by council vote to amend the 2018 fiscal year budget to the amounts in the projected actual results column of the report.
The council also voted to introduce ordinance 2-2018 that would adopt the 2019 fiscal year budget.
Both ordinances are set for public hearing on Thursday, December 13, at 5:00 p.m. at the village hall before the council’s next regular meeting.
In other business:
•Mayor Quint West reported the new street signs on the east side of the highway will be installed this week.
•Village Clerk Kristan Bordelon reported the new police unit will be delivered either in late December or in early January.
•Police Chief L.C. Deshotel reported officer Josh Uhlman will be graduating from the police academy tomorrow, November 16.
