FAUBOURG - Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Roberie Brignac, 83, were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mrs. Brignac, a resident of Faubourg, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence.
Entombment followed in the church mausoleum under the direction of LaVille Funeral Home.
Visitation was held Friday, April 30, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. and resumed again Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 8 a.m.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Come Lord Jesus Group.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed by her loving husband, Russell Brignac, of Faubourg; daughters, Stephanie Brignac, of Covington and Joni Brignac Duos and husband, Mickey, of Ville Platte; son Rusty Paul Brignac, of Faubourg; sister, Earleen Lafleur and husband, Arlen, of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren Ross (Robyn) Duos, Sadie (Tibby) Figueiredo, Lyndsey Brignac, and Lillyanne Brignac; four great-grandchildren Ashton Duos, Brecken Figueiredo, Emry Figueiredo, and Emily Duos.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Olita Foret Roberie.

CHARLES DON DEVILLE

VILLE PLATTE – Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. at Addison Johnson Cemetery on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, for Charles Don Deville, 73, who passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, in Ville Platte.
Reverend Warren Maxwell conducted the services.
Burial took place in Addison Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.
Charles Don Deville was born on June 29, 1947, in Ville Platte to Don Louis Deville and Hazel West Deville. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a school bus driver for over 39 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janice Deville; sister, Patsy Cloud and husband, Jimmy, of Turkey Creek; niece, Tabatha and husband, Michael Sontag, of Lafayette; great-nephews, Peyton and Cullen Sontag; and great-niece, Clara Sontag.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Hazel Deville; brother, Elvin Louis Deville; and sisters, Ann Jean Deville and Betty Deville Garlington.

BONNIE F. FONTENOT
July 20, 1934 – May 3, 2021
VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte today, May 6, 2021, for Bonnie Ann Fontenot, 86, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie Fontenot, 86, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on May 3, 2021.
Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.
At the request of the family, a visitation was held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. A rosary was prayed in her honor on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will resume today, May 6, 2021, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
She entered this world on July 20, 1934, in Vidrine to Gilbert and Lula Fontenot. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and traveling. She never missed a single sporting event for her nine children. She was a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters and an active member of Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church.
To know Bonnie was to know a truly beautiful soul. This little woman was strong in heart, a guiding light and council, and matriarch to her immediate family, currently numbering over 70 . Her love, laughter, and empathy for all will be dearly missed.
Bonnie is survived by her five daughters, Ramona Hardee (Greg), Rebecca Fontenot, Carla Dupuis (Greg), Lisa Hansen (Ron), and Jeri Fontenot Olivas; four sons, Richard “Ricky” Fontenot (Faith), Kirk Fontenot (Julie), Keith Fontenot (Renee), and Kent Fontenot (Nina); 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sherry Vidrine (Larry).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jerry D. “Rab” Fontenot; parents, Gilbert and Lula Vidrine Fontenot; and brothers, Darnell Fontenot and Dowell Fontenot.
