VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Dale Manuel, 74, was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 20, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Manuel, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Lafayette General Hospital.
Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of LaVille Funeral Home.
Visitation was held Friday, March 19, 2021, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 4:30 p.m. Visitation resumed again Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 8 a.m.
He will he deeply missed by his loving family, sons, Jody Manuel and wife, Jeanette, of Haughton, and Toby Manuel and wife, Windy, of Ville Platte; sister, Velma Castille of Opelousas; two grandchildren, Riley Dale Manuel and Mallory Ann Manuel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Regile and Anna Belle Prudhomme Manuel; and wife, Mary B. Manuel, who passed away on January 6, 2021).

DEAN E. CLARK
June 21, 1938 – March 12, 2021
Funeral services for Mr. Dean E. Clark were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Pine Prairie Church of Christ. Mr. Clark, 82, of Turkey Creek, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 12, 2021, in Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Pine Prairie.
Reverend Kevin West officiated.
Interment followed in Clark Cemetery, Turkey Creek, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
A time of visitation was held at Pine Prairie Church of Christ on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitation resumed on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Dean was a foreman in asphalt construction for 40 plus years. He was a huge country music fan; he himself recorded at least three songs. He loved playing music at all family gatherings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching boxing, and gardening. He would always make sure his garden was big enough to not only feed his family, but other family members as well. He was a good, kind-hearted man who was cherished by all. Paw Paw Dean, you will be sadly missed forever…We love you!
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving companion, Geri Gauthier, of Turkey Creek; two sons, Jesse Clark, and his wife, Lisa, of Turkey Creek, and Mike Clark, and his companion, Kathy, of Turkey Creek; two daughters, Deana Hazelton Clark, and her companion, Bob, of Glenmora, and Angie Ganson, and her husband, James, of Turkey Creek; one stepson, Wade Fitt, and his wife, Toni, of Glenmora; four brothers, Q. A. Clark, of McNary, R. D. Clark, and his wife, Earline, of Jena, and Billy Clark, and his wife, Sherry, of Pine Prairie, and Douglas Clark, and his wife, Jennifer, of Pine Prairie; three sisters, Faye Martin, of Pineville, Delnita Dupre, and her husband, Robert, of Pine Prairie, and Nelda Atkinson, and her husband, Larry, of Gonzales; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ethel Clark; his wife, Jackie Clark; one brother, Donald Clark; three sisters, Lorraine Clark, Weeda Murray, and Jeanette Maricle; and one stepson, Shannon Dalton.
Pallbearers honored to serve were Shannon Clark, Adam Clark, Logan Martin, Hayden Fitt, Christopher Clark, and Brian Clark.
