Sidney J. Myers, 65, 2395 Everton Road, Ville Platte, Louisiana, was the target of a newly empaneled grand jury wherein he was indicted on charges of sexual battery, felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and five counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, all in relation to a series of sexual misconducts between Myers and a 13-year-old victim from January 2020 to November 2020, according to a release from the district attorney’s office.
The crimes of sexual battery and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile carry sentences of up to 10 years imprisonment.
District Attorney Trent Brignac, of the 13th Judicial District Court for Evangeline Parish, complimented lead prosecutor Chris Ludeau in his presentation of the case to the grand jury and thanked him along with the members of the grand jury for their efforts during the one day presentation.
