On December 30th, 2020 at 7:30 PM Chief Brent Zackery, Assistant Chief Fruge, Lieutenant Collin Deville, Sergeant Justin Jack, Corporal Clay Mouton, Ptn Danielle Lachney, and Ptn. Willtee Gallow of the Mamou Police Department executed a successful operation leading to the arrest of an offender, and the seizure of multiple controlled substances.
Through the use of an unnamed informant, a drug transaction was arranged with a subject believed to be in possession of a large amount of the drug Crystal Meth. Once the transaction was complete the vehicle was boxed in by Chief Zackery, Assistant Chief Fruge, Lieutenant Deville and Ptn. Lachney. Once the vehicle was boxed in at Oakwood Apartments, the driver of the vehicle, John Holford, was told to exit the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, Holford was detained, and read his miranda rights. After a weapon pat down, it was found that marked bills used in the drug transaction were in his possession. After being mirandized, the vehicle was searched. The vehicle search yielded 15 baggies of the believed substance crystal meth, each weighing approximately 3.5-4 grams, with a street value of approximately 850$. A small pen believed to be filled with THC and a labeled “THC” cartridge was also located. Once Holford was transported to the MPD jail, the informant surrendered two baggies of a similar substance to the officers, which he claims was sold to him by Holford. The total weigh of all the believed crystal meth totaled to be 68grams. In total 521$ of proceeds were also recovered from believed drug transactions.
Holford faces charges of possession and distribution of schedule 2 substances as well as paraphernalia charges.
