Hunters with lifetime licenses can now add a lifetime hunting, lifetime fishing, lifetime combination, boater education, or hunter education endorsement to their driver’s license for free.
Anyone with one of these types of licenses can add the endorsement at the Office of Motor Vehicles the next time they renew their driver’s license.
According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, “If you have one or more of these endorsements, you do not have to carry the applicable license or certification card with you as long as you have your driver’s license.”
Lifetime hunting licenses include basic hunting, big game hunting, primitive firearms, bow hunting, state waterfowl license, turkey license and WMA hunting permit.
These licenses are available only from the Baton Rouge Louisiana Department of Wildlife Office, and usually have a three week processing time.
Those who apply, must have lived in Louisiana for the immediate six months prior to making application to qualify for resident rates. Mandatory documents required with an application for an individual under 18 are a birth certificate and a copy of both parents’ driver licenses. Mandatory documents required with application for anyone 18 and older are a valid driver’s license issued at a minimum of six months and one of the following: Louisiana voter’s registration card, Louisiana vehicle registration, or two previous year’s of state tax filings stamped by the Department of Revenue and Taxation.
Lifetime license fees are as follows:
•Lifetime resident senior combo - $50.
•Lifetime non-resident hunt/fish - $3,000.
•Lifetime non-resident native disabled veteran combo - $300.
•Lifetime hunt/fish for children zero to four years old - $200.
•Lifetime hunting for children five to 13 years old - $200.
•Lifetime fishing for children five to 13 years old - $200.
•Lifetime hunt/fish for children five to 13 years old - $300.
•Lifetime hunting individuals 14 years and older - $300.
•Lifetime fishing for individuals 14 years and older - $300.
•Lifetime hunt/fish for individuals 14 years and older - $500.
