On Tuesday, an Evangeline Parish grand jury issued true bills against two individuals who were accused of committing sex crimes.
Indictments were returned against Keisha Lane Matt, 38, of 1609 L.D. Verrette Rd., and Christopher S. Landreneau, 35, of 1706 S. Midkiff Rd., Midland, Tx. The two indictments are not related to the same case.
Matt was indicted on two charges. Those charges were first degree rape with the victim under the age of 13 and pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
The incident that has resulted in these charges allegedly occurred between January 2014 and August 2018..
Landreneau was indicted on one count of first degree rape with the victim under the age of 13, one count of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile under the age of 13.
In October, Landreneau also pled guilty in a Texas federal court to possession of child pornography.
Court records from the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas states Landreneau “did knowingly possess visual depictions of prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which had been mailed, shipped and transported in interstate and foreign commerce.”
Landreneau’s sentencing in federal court has been set for January 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
Following the grand jury proceedings, Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac complimented Assistant District Attorney Nick Monier and First Assistant District Attorney Marcus Fontenot on their preparation and presentation of these two cases.
