Grand jury indicts Jody Thrasher for attempted manslaughter

An Evangeline Parish grand jury, on Friday, issued a true bill against one individual involved in a shoot-out that occurred more than a year and a half ago in Easton.
The grand jury proceedings, which are performed in secret, has led to the indictment of Jody Thomas Thrasher on one count of attempted manslaughter for the attempted killing of Kylan Wayne Ardoin.
The decision made by the grand jury, which is tasked with determining whether enough probable cause exist to indict an individual and on what charge, resulted from a shooting that occurred on January 20, 2017
Days following the incident, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office released a statement which shared that during the shoot-out, Ardoin “suffered a gunshot wound to the chest,” while Thrasher “suffered from wounds to the groin area.”
Both individuals survived the incident, which occurred on Lariat Lane.
Thrasher’s trial date has been set for October 15, 2018.
