Former educator announces run for council in Pine Prairie

Former educator in Evangeline Parish, Gretchen Lamke, is seeking elected office in the November election.
“I, Gretchen Lamke,” she said in her announcement, “am announcing my candidacy for village council for the Village of Pine Prairie.”
“I’ve always been proud of the community where I was raised.”
“I graduated from Pine Prairie in 1978, went to trade school, worked several different jobs, and then decided to go to college in the pursuit of an educational degree. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 1990. I have taught 1st through 8th grade in Evangeline Parish for 28 years.”
“My husband, Duane, and I have been married for 37 years. We’ve raised our two daughters Casey and Sarah in this village. Casey and Sarah have moved to different areas in Louisiana, but Duane and I are enjoying our retirement here.”
“I am a hard working and honest person who has the time to work for you in our village.”
