Five people arrested for staged crash in Evan. Parish

On Monday, the Louisiana State Police Troop I shared that five individuals were recently arrested for a staged crash in Evangeline Parish.
In a release from the LSP, it stated that “the initial investigation revealed in December 2015, a group of five people participated in a staged vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a rental vehicle near Ville Platte.”
The release continued, “The staged crash involved five adults and three children between the ages of nine and 15.” According to LSP, “the goal of the staged crash was to generate fraudulent insurance claims for intentionally damaged property and fake bodily injuries.”
After further investigation into this matter, State Police Detectives “obtained arrest warrants on charges of insurance fraud, filing a false police report, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.”
On July 23, 2018 the following individuals were arrested in this matter:
Winston Dupre, 66 of Pollock, was booked on insurance fraud and filing false public records charges.
Sheba Williams, 32 of Opelousas, was booked on charges of insurance fraud, filing false public records and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Lucinda Williams, 26 of Ville Platte, was booked on the charge of insurance fraud.
Delores Bias, 24 of Eunice, was booked on charges of insurance fraud.
Melanie Malveaux, 36 of Mamou, was booked on charges of insurance fraud and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
