Evangeline Parish’s neighbors to the west are hurting as they have lost so much and are in great need of the basics just to keep going. As a result, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Cabot Corporation teamed up with the community to have a supply drive.
A 26-foot U-Haul truck was parked outside the sheriff’s office since Friday, September 4, to collect donations from the community. The items were then delivered to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office on Friday, September 11, for distribution.
Supplies included the following items: cleaning supplies, work gloves, batteries, toiletries, fans, trash cans and trash bags, tarps, first aid supplies, utensils, bug spray, ant poisoning, baby food, diapers, and wipes.
Among those who donated to the supply drive are Sharon Soileau, Danny and Brenda LaFleur, Betty Miller, Paula Brignac, Donald and Alice Jones, Patty Guillory, Angie Bordelon, Carla Brasseaux, Ben Fontenot, Kathy Johnson, Keith and Monica Hebert on behalf of Hebert Building Contractor, LLC, Ben Marcantel, Chantelle Johnson and family, Debbie Fontenot, Jamie and Kevin McDaniel, JoAnn Bordelon, Monique Ardoin, Kasey McDaniel, Walter and Rosie Hebert, Terry and Glenda Lafleur, Kimberly Ashby, Mia Tate, Monique Prudhomme, Ruse and Eva Smith, Tabitha Rajput, Savannah and Dawn Fountain with Caterpillar Development Center in Biloxi Mississippi, Cabot Corporation, Schlumberger, Ace Hardware, Industrial Supply, Whiteville Community, and EPSO.
There were also several donors who wished to remain anonymous. EPSO had an outpouring of donations at all hours of the day so if anyone was missed, the office is so very sorry and is very grateful for all donations.
