On April 8, 2020 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance on the 1000 block of Reverend E.D. Alfred Street. Upon arrival a male suspect was cursing and yelling at the homeowner and Officers. While being placed under arrest the suspect assaulted the Officer, fled into the residence and came back outside with a metal pipe and a golf club to attack the Officer again. After a short standoff the suspect locked himself inside the residence. Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene to assist.
