Chief Neal Lartigue reports narcotics arrest

On April 29, 2020, Officers and Detectives responded to a tip regarding narcotics being sold from a vehicle on Martin Luther King Drive. The vehicle was located and while speaking to the driver, Detectives observed a green leafy substance inside the vehicle and an undisclosed amount of cash and several small baggies of green leafy substance, which led to further investigation. The driver was removed from the vehicle and the vehicle was searched. Detectives located four clear bags with marijuana and a puzzle box with marijuana residue inside.

After obtaining permission to search the driver’s residence, three large bags of marijuana were also located.

Upon completion of the search of the vehicle and residence, Officers reported that the combined weight of the marijuana that was located, was approximately 1, 132 grams.

Darrell Jack, age 61, of 414 Martin Luther King Drive was arrested without incident and booked into the Ville Platte City Jail. Jack was charged with felony possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics. Jack remains incarcerated on a $10,000.00 bond.
