On Sunday, April 11, at approximately 9 p.m., officers with the Turkey Creek Police
Department received a complaint that a white male subject was walking like a chicken and talking to himself on the side of the road. The caller also advised the subject, later identified as Haiden King, of Ville Platte, was trying to flag down vehicles as well.
When officers arrived on the scene, King was acting very strange, and, when officers tried to conduct a pat down for their safety, he stated he would just empty out his pockets.
King stated has been living in the area since birth and is aware that the jurisdiction of Turkey Creek is a drug free zone and tried to hide a pink colored bag with a rock like substance inside.
King was charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics and violation of a drug free zone.
Turkey Creek Police Department would like to thank the public for its continued support for the department and community.
As always Chief Steven Ardoin would like to thank the public for their continued support and to report all suspicious activity and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
