I, Ellis Guillory, am announcing my candidacy for re-election as Evangeline Parish School Board Member for District 12.
Below are a few of the accomplishments I have been a part of achieving since becoming District 12’s school board representative:
•Pay raises for EPSB employees for the 2017-18 school year.
•Constructed a new EPSB Teacher Training and Technology Center for use by all EPSB employees and students.
•Reduced the number of district employees without negatively impacting classroom instruction.
•Amassed a budget surplus in every EPSB fund for the first time since 2011-12.
•Sought and obtained grants to minimize costs to the general fund.
•Completed maintenance projects on all 12 campuses in excess of $1,590,000.00 using the Maintenance Funds.
•Maintained a B-rating from the Louisiana Department of Education.
•Implemented French Immersion classes at Mamou Elementary and Ville Platte Elementary.
•Developed a five year plan to purchase Chrome Book computers for every student.
•Established a partnership with LSU-Eunice to create the LSUE Academy to allow high school students from Basile, Mamou, Pine Prairie and Ville Platte to receive their high school diploma and an Associate of Arts Degree.
•Established special academic programs on several campuses, such as S.T.E.A.M. program.
•Worked with business owners in Evangeline Parish to create a program to recognize and show appreciation to all EPSB teachers and employees.
•Worked with local businesses to create a work-based learning program at four EPSB schools.
•Extended the free lunch program to every EPSB student.
Please continue to support me for a school board member with experience, dedication and committment to our schools. Vote Ellis Guillory #52.
