On April 14 th , 2021 Pine Prairie Police was notified by a local business owner that an employee was
caught taking cash from the register and items from the store. Through video surveillance, Beant
Singh of Ville Platte was seen taking an undisclosed amount of cash on several occasions from the
register and items off the shelves without paying. An arrest warrant was issued by District Judge West
and Singh was arrested without incident on April 23, 2021. He was booked into the Evangeline Parish
Jail on Felony Theft charges with a $15,000 bond.
