Bishop Deshotel reflects on the passing of Billy Graham

“It was with great sadness that I heard news of the death of the Reverend Billy Graham. As a pioneer of the evangelical movement, he was a tireless crusader in bringing the word of God to others throughout our nation and around the world. He is well remembered for his close friendship with Saint John Paul II, who Graham referred to as ‘my brother.’ As we look back on Reverend Graham’s inspiring life, we are reminded of Archbishop Fulton Sheen, who, like Reverend Graham, was admired and honored by Catholics and non-Catholics alike, and was a much-loved and positive influence in so many Christian homes.”
“Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
