At the 2019 Louisiana Tournoi Pageant, Courtlyn Bieber was crowned Miss Louisiana Tournoi Queen. She recently answered questions on what the title means to her.
Question: Name/age/parents/grandparents?
Answer: My name is Courtlyn Paige Bieber. I am 21 years old. I am the daughter of Courtney and Rachael Bieber. I am the granddaughter of Charles and Yvette Bieber, and Floyd and Margery Thibodeaux. (Floyd passed away in 2003).
Question: School/hobbies/activities/clubs/organizations?
Answer: School: Louisiana College (Fall 2018 – current); Louisiana State University at Eunice (Fall 2016 – Spring 2018)
Grade/Major: I am a college senior majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy at LC. I received an Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer Degree with a concentration in Biological Sciences at LSUE in May 2018.
Hobbies: I am a local babysitter for many families. I like to attend mission trips to other countries where I can share the Gospel with people of all ages.
Clubs/Organizations: I am the treasurer of the Alpha Epsilon Delta organization, a member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, and the treasurer of Students for Life at Louisiana College. At LSUE, I served many leadership positions for the Pre-Professional Health Majors Association where I became president my last year, and I was senator for the Student Government Association.
Community Activities: I enjoy serving at my church, First Baptist Ville Platte, through several different ministries. My favorites are the benevolence ministry and the children’s ministry.
Other Items of General Interest: I enjoy ATV riding, camping, hunting, and fishing with my family. I also love to bake!
Question: Future plans?
Answer: I plan to graduate from LC in the beginning of May with a bachelor’s degree of Pre-Physical Therapy and start grad school for Physical Therapy soon after. Once I have completed school, my goal is to open my own pediatric physical therapy clinic.
Question: What does it mean to you being crowned Tournoi Queen?
Answer: Being crowned Tournoi Queen means that I have the honor to represent a unique association. I am thrilled to begin this experience as a traveling queen, telling everyone of Le Tournoi and inviting them to come and watch the knights compete.
Question: Have you held any other titles? How does this one compare?
Answer: I have not held any other titles, but I plan on making my first title the most memorable by sharing the tradition.
Question: What do you think it takes to be a good festival/city queen?
Answer: Someone that you can always count on when being involved with the association and to be a great role model.
