The Basile mayor and town council handled mostly police business during the May 10 meeting of the town’s officials.
Chief of Police Allen Ivory, Jr., requested an emergency purchase of six new police radios for his department for a total of approximately $15,000. After a review of the budget, the council determined insufficient funds to allow the request.
