2020 U.S. Census forms are received by parish residents

Evangeline Parish residents this week have begun to receive their 2020 U.S. Census forms in the mail. Reminder notices will be mailed out beginning March 16, and the final notices will be delivered beginning April 20.
Census takers in mid-May will begin going door-to-door to residences where no forms have been received.
The census is mandated every 10 years by the U.S. Constitution and determines how many representatives each state will have in Congress. The census also determines the amount of federal monies each state receives for programs such as Medicaid and school lunch programs.
