At approximately 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, three units from the Ville Platte Fire Department carrying seven firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 1500 block of Carl St. in Ville Platte.
According to information received from the VPFD, the origin of the fire was the hot water heater, and the cause is unknown.
Firefighters remained on scene until approximately 2:35 p.m.
