The Evangeline Parish Tourist Commission is pleased to announce it has been awarded $20,000 for the fiscal year 2021-2022 Cooperative Marketing Program (CMP).

Historically, the CMP reimbursed 50 to 67 percent of the cost of qualifying media expenses. However, to assist industry partners during challenging times, Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser’s office will reimburse 100 percent of the cost of qualifying media expenses for FY 2022.

“Disasters both natural and man-made have tested Louisiana time and again, but a resilient tourism industry has been able to bounce back stronger than ever each time,” Lieutenant Governor Nungesser said. “The Louisiana Office of Tourism is dedicated to giving the tourism industry the resources necessary to put Louisiana back in the hearts and minds of consumers as they begin to travel again.”

“This is huge for tourism in Evangeline Parish,” EPTC Marketing Manager Elizabeth West said. “Knowing that the Lieutenant Governor will reimburse 100 percent of our qualifying media expenses is monumental. This will give us, as a small organization with limited funding, the opportunity we need to promote all the wonderful things we have in Evangeline Parish possibly more than ever before.”
