The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:

A dream was made official as J. Stanford Vidrine was sworn in as assistant district attorney after taking the job back in October.

A new book detailing the history of Swiss-based Geigy/Ciba-Geigy Corporation features a retired employee from Mamou.

Our hearts are heavy with the recent passing of one of our valued library board members, Ms. Sandra Jacobs. The Board of Control and our staff extend her family our sincere sympathies.

Ville Platte Mayor and Rotarian Jennifer Vidrine invited State Treasurer John Schroder to address the December 21, meeting of the Ville Platte Rotary Club.

Chataignier Mayor Justin Darbonne does not want to raise the sewage rates, but they may have to be raised because the sewage department is operating at roughly a $1 thousand shortfall each month.
