VPPD makes one arrest in fatal shooting on Thursday

On Friday, Ville Platte Chief Neal Lartigue reported that one arrest had been made in a shooting incident that has resulted in the death of one individual.
In his release, Chief Lartigue stated the following:
On October 4, 2018 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Officers responded to an apartment complex on North Soileau Street in reference to an initial report of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered a black male with multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives arrived on scene and began their investigation.
The black male later identified as Terry Serie Jr. age 27 of 605 North Soileau, Ville Platte was pronounced dead at the scene.
After speaking with witnesses and further investigation an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect. Chief Lartigue has reported that Tyron Jack 19, of 931 West Long Street in Ville Platte was arrested without incident on October 5, 2018. Jack was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail on one count of second degree murder and one count of attempted second degree murder.
Jack was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail with no bond at this time.
