JOSEPH CALVIN SOILEAU

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services were held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, for Joseph Calvin Soileau Jr., 69, who passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in Ville Platte.

Father Andrew Killeen was celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.

Entombment took place at Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.

At the request of the family, a visitation was held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, beginning at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Rosary was prayed in his honor on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Visitation resumed on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Joseph Calvin Soileau was born on August 7, 1951, in Ville Platte to Calvin Soileau and Anna Ruth Soileau. He worked and retired from Cabot. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed camping during squirrel season and setting lines at the river. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Beth McGee and husband, Chris, of Lake Charles; son, Jared Paul Soileau and wife, Meghann, of Vidrine; sisters, Sandra Sue Rozas and husband, Blyn, of Chataignier, Donna Joan Henry, and Karen Marie Fontenot and husband, Gary Wade Fontenot; mother, Anna Ruth Soileau, of Mamou; the mother of his children, Nancy Soileau; and grandchildren, Noah Daniel, Eli Christopher, and Charlotte Rose McGee, and Beau Luke and Ella Grace Soileau.

He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Soileau.
